During our trip to the East coast last year we had made a short 2 day trip to the Niagara falls. We started driving early in the morning from Philadelphia to Niagara falls. The drive was rather uneventful and the scenery was not extraordinary. We hit Syracuse around 1/2 way point and stopped to have some coffee and lunch. Its a nice small city and we stopped by at the University area which we really liked. Half an our later we were back on the road to Niagara falls.
We reached Niagara falls at around 4pm, checked in and headed out to check out the falls which was within walking distance. I must say the first sight of the fall is impressive. The roar of the water flowing by and very sight of the amount of water in the falls just leaves one speechless.
We spent a lot of time clicking snaps and just soaking in the view of the falls and as evening became night the lights came on and the sight was just breathtaking!... It was time to get the tripod out and get some snaps!... Here they are for your viewing!
We idled around for a couple of hours following which we went to hard rock cafe for dinner before heading back to the hotel for a good few hours of sleep.. There was a lot more to see in the morning!..
In the morning we headed back to the falls this time to take the famous Maid of the mist ride and see cave of the winds.. Maid of the mist is this ferry that takes you right to the base of the Niagara falls and lets one experience the majesty of the falls up close.
Next up was cave of the winds, basically a bunch of stairs that let you get close to the base of one of the falls in Niagara.
Niagara was a short trip and left us wanting to see more of it. Hopefully someday in the future we will see it from the Canadian side, everyone tells us that its way more prettier when seen from the other side.
By around late afternoon we were ready to head to New York !...The drive back was rather uninteresting except for the parts where I almost dozed off while driving and gave aruna a scare.
